In the very well written "Who we are" post, above, by Rogue, you can get an idea of our background. I would like to expand a bit on that with some guidelines that have helped us stay a close gaming group for so long. These guidelines are general, and may be added to, or modified by an officer as needed.
#1, Courtesy: The hurtful or spiteful harassing of a fellow member will not be tolerated. We all make mistakes and have our bad days, please remember that on the other end of a toon is a real person. Of course, playful ribbing or teasing is expected, but statements such as " you are worthless, we wiped because of you" and such, are out of line.
#2, Helpfulness: Most of us are off doing our own things alot of the time, whether alone or in small groups, but please take the time if you are able, to help a guildmate that needs it. But also please remember, if you are out leveling a character, you are going to get ganked once in a while, please don`t yell for help every time you do, or you may get some of that friendly ribbing we talked about in #1.
#3, Loans/borrowing: Loaning and borrowing in game currency, is strictly between the partys involved. the guild will not enforce debts. Know who you are borrowing from or loaning to.
#4, Foul language: We all from time to time let out a curse, as adults this is to be expected. But please remember, there are some people with younger children that may be within earshot, or reading range. Using the f word every other word, gets annoying for everyone, and shows a lack of maturity. Please show some restraint if possible.
#5, Sharing: Many of the Harbingers, have been playing together for some time, and tend to share quite a bit. This is not a requirement, and we realize many new members may be hesitant until you get to know each other. On the other hand, please do not expect people to give you items, if you are not willing to return the favor. Many of the members that are of a higher level then you, will be happy to give you items to help you level or grow, it is looked upon well if you are willing to do the same to help another member lower level/geared then yourself.
#6, Character creation: You decide your character. No one will dictate to you what race, build or professions you need to have. Some one may ASK if you would consider something, but it is your choice. Of course, as with any group, we should all consider the overall good of the guild, but we don`t kick anyone because of your preferences.
#7, Have fun: The purpose of any game is to have fun. Don`t let a wipe, or dumb incident ruin your game. IT`S JUST A GAME!!!! Real life always takes precedent. We don`t kick a member because they can`t make a run or guild function due to real life reasons.
#8, Work things out:If we have a problem with a guild decision or member, we talk it out. Don`t let something fester or just up and quit because you think it can`t be worked out, you`ll be surprised at what a group of mature people can reason thru.
#9, Voice: Everyone has a voice in the guild. Sometimes a decision will be made by the officers, that we feel is needed, but we will always listen to your thoughts and opinions.
As stated above, these guidelines may be amended or added to as needed. Hopefully this will give you an idea of the general way we play. These ideals of game play have made and kept Harbingers a group of friends and fellow gamers for over a decade, and we hope to continue growing and making new friends for years to come. Remember, when in doubt, courtesy and respect can`t fail.
